Problem
Chanchitos, Brubank’s savings feature that rewards users when they reach financial goals, showed clear opportunities for improvement. Users had difficulties setting the end date of their chanchitos and were unable to add money once created. Messaging did not clearly communicate user actions or the consequences of breaking a chanchito early. Compared to competitors, the feature felt basic and lacked appeal. Research also revealed broader needs: protection against inflation, collaborative savings, and better visibility of goals.
Solution
The design exploration proposed optimizing configuration flows and enabling the option to add money to existing chanchitos. UX copy was rewritten to guide users more effectively, while gamification elements were introduced through goals that encouraged continuous engagement. A user persona was also developed to align the experience with real financial habits and expectations, resulting in a clearer, more inclusive, and distinctive proposal in the market.
